How to get more information
To create this website and video, I worked with many wonderful people in York County who were willing to contribute to my project. This page is dedicated to those who have helped me with research or the resources I used. I recommend these sources or contact these people if you want more information on certain topics.
The book, "Legacies" was a public service project of the York Branch of the American Association of University Women in 1984. The book gives biographies on 50 influential women in York Counties history going back to the 1800s. This book was my main source for much of the website. I wanted to make the information it held much more accessible to the general public. Though I highlight some of the women within this book, there are lots more. If you are looking to go deeper, I highly recommend this book. It can be found in the York County Library System. You may have to specially request this book as there are only limited copies.

Jim McClure
Jim McClure has given me many resources and direction in creating this project. He worked as editor of the York Daily Record for 30 years until retirement in April of 2019, and was also associated with digital products. He has also served as state editor for Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland for Gannett's USA TODAY Network. He is also very interested in York County's history and has spent much time doing historical research of the area. He has written countless articles and multiple books on York's history. "Nine Months in York Town" focuses on when the Continental Congress came to York, while "In the thick of the fight" is more about York during WW2. "Almost Forgotten" tells of the black history in York, while "Never to be Forgotten" gives a year by year break down of York County's past. "East of Gettysburg" focuses on the Civil War. I used all of these books as resources for this website. You can check out his books at the local libraries and can find much of his work online.
