This is my Gold Award Project
The Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouts. To earn this award, a Girl Scout must come up with a project that addresses an issue within her community, is sustainable, and works to educate and inspire others. Each project requires at least 80 hours of work and each is vastly different depending on what the Girl Scout is passionate about. Through this process girls learn leadership, organization, and communication skills. For this project, I decided to create a website on Women's History in York and a video interviewing current influential women of York.

About Me
Hello, my name is Anna Lumsargis. I am currently a Senior at Central York High School. I have been a Girl Scout for 13 years and decided to mix my interest of Journalism and History for my Gold Award Project. I have adopted my love of history from my grandma, Maxine Lumsargis, who founded the Manchester Township Historical Society, and my dad who is a Social Studies teacher at Dallastown High School. My mom is my Girl Scout Troop leader and has supported me throughout this project. Giving back to the community was something she always instilled in me and this was a way I could use my passion to better the community. I took journalism my sophomore year and haven't looked back since! I am now Editor-in-Chief of my school newspaper and plan on continuing my study of journalism in college. This project has meant a lot to me and I was able to collaborate with many great people in York County to create this website and video. Feel free to email me with any questions or feedback!
